Arusha Town Tour
Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon arrival, you will register at the village office and your trip can begin.
First, you will visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, and village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear!
After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer not to be missed!

Day 1

Morning – Hotel Pickup & Introduction
Your day begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Arusha by a professional guide from Wildlife Lovers Safaris. After a short briefing, you’ll head into the city to begin your exploration.
Mid-Morning – Local Market Visit
Visit one of Arusha’s vibrant local markets, where you’ll experience the colors, sounds, and energy of daily Tanzanian life. Discover fresh produce, spices, textiles, and handmade goods while interacting with friendly local vendors.
Late Morning – Cultural & Historical Sites
Explore key landmarks such as:
Arusha Clock Tower – the symbolic center point between Cairo and Cape Town
Arusha Declaration Museum – learn about Tanzania’s political history and the Arusha Declaration
Lunch – Local Restaurant Experience
Enjoy a delicious Tanzanian lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste traditional dishes and refreshments.
Afternoon – Art & Community Experience
Visit local art galleries or cultural centers, such as the Cultural Heritage Centre, to admire African art, crafts, and sculptures. You may also visit a nearby community project to learn about local initiatives and daily life.
Late Afternoon – Coffee Experience (Optional)
Take part in a short coffee experience, learning how Tanzanian coffee is grown, processed, and brewed—ending with a fresh cup tasting.
Evening – Return to Hotel
After a full day of exploration, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel, marking the end of your enriching Arusha Town Tour.
