NAIROBI – DRIVE TO MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Experience of the Day
After a hearty breakfast, begin your drive through Kenya’s scenic countryside, passing small towns, bustling roadside markets, and vast fields of wheat and barley. A highlight of the journey is the dramatic descent into the Great Rift Valley, offering spectacular views from the escarpment. Arrive at Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch, located on the edge of this world-famous reserve. After a short rest, you will head out for your first thrilling game drive in the Maasai Mara. Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the wonders of the Maasai Mara. After an early breakfast, you set off for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch to maximize your time in the park. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its dense population of predators and the spectacular Great Migration (July–October), when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River.

Your guide will navigate through different habitats from rolling grasslands to riverine forests each supporting a diverse array of wildlife. NDUTU – NGORONGORO CRATER – KARATU

Experience of the Day
Today you leave the Ndutu plains and climb into the lush Ngorongoro Highlands. By mid-morning, you descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular wildlife havens on earth.

The crater floor is alive with animal’s elephants browsing along the fever trees, black-maned lions sprawled lazily, hippos wallowing in freshwater pools, and jackals darting across the grasslands. With luck, you may also spot the rare and endangered black rhino grazing in the open. A picnic lunch is served beside a hippo pool, allowing you to dine with a view of Africa’s giants.

In the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and drive to Karatu, a picturesque town set amidst rolling hills and coffee plantations. Here you check into your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
