4-Day Touch of Wilderness – Luxury

If you only have 4 days but still want to visit the most famous parks of Tanzania (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Manyara) this is the perfect tour for you. You only spend one night in Serengeti, which we usually think is too little. However, if your time frame is short and you really want to visit this amazing park, then this is the right choice for you.

Morning:
Depart early from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its huge baobab trees and the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. Enjoy a full morning game drive.

Highlights:

  • Massive herds of elephants

  • Lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalo

  • Excellent birdlife (over 500 species)

  • Beautiful baobab-studded landscapes

Midday:
Picnic lunch inside the park at a designated viewpoint.

Afternoon:
Continue with an extended game drive as you explore different habitats and follow the Tarangire River, a magnet for animals during the dry season.

Evening:
Exit the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Karatu offers a cool highland climate and relaxing lodges—perfect after a warm day in Tarangire.

Morning:
After breakfast, depart Karatu and drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll stop at the viewpoint for a stunning panorama of Ngorongoro Crater.

Transit Game Drive:
As you cross the Ngorongoro highlands and descend toward Serengeti, wildlife appears along the way—zebras, wildebeest, and Maasai villages.

Afternoon:
Enter Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife areas in the world. Begin your game drive en route to your camp.

Highlights:

  • Big cats (lions, cheetahs, leopards)

  • The endless plains of the Serengeti

  • Possible wildebeest migration (seasonal)

Evening:
Arrive at your Serengeti lodge/camp for dinner and overnight under the stars.

Early Morning Game Drive:
Leave early to maximize wildlife sightings when animals are most active. Morning is prime time for predators and dramatic activity on the plains.

Late Morning:
Return to camp for breakfast or enjoy a brunch picnic depending on your schedule.

Midday–Afternoon:
Begin your journey back toward Karatu. This includes a game drive out of Serengeti and a transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering more chances to see wildlife.

Evening:
Arrive in Karatu for dinner and overnight, enjoying the cool highland air and lodge comfort after a long safari day.

You will reach Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner. There is a possibility to downgrade or upgrade your accommodation level.

Morning:
Depart Karatu and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a lush, green park set beneath the Great Rift Valley wall. Enjoy a game drive through groundwater forests, open plains, and the lake shore.

Highlights:

  • Tree-climbing lions (rare but unique to Manyara)

  • Large troops of baboons

  • Hippos, elephants, giraffes, and flamingos

  • Beautiful forest and lake scenery

Midday:
Enjoy lunch at a picnic site inside the park.

Afternoon:
Complete your final game drive, then exit the park and return to Arusha, where your safari ends.
